This course is designed to prepare Plumbing Tier I-V apprentices to fulfill the requirements to take the Massachusetts State Journeyman Plumber's Examination. In order to apply the course hours towards a student's educational requirements as outlined in 248 C.M.R., Section 11, they must hold a current Massachusetts Apprentice Plumber's License. State requirements vary for Plumbing I & II and Tier I, II, III & IV Apprentices based on the date the student acquired their Apprentice License. The Tier program is for apprentice plumbers who received their apprentice card after September 1, 2008.
Journeyman Gas Fitter Theory CourseProgram Overview
This course is designed to prepare Gas Fitter apprentices to fulfill the requirements of Gas Fitter Theory Tier I, II, III and to take the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Journeyman Gas Fitters Examination. In order to apply the course hours towards a student’s educational Requirements as outlined in 248 CMR 11.02 (Section 3), the student must have a high school diploma or equivalent and must hold a valid Commonwealth of Massachusetts Gas Fitters Apprentice License. Each Tier will consist of 110 hours per Tier of educational classroom (a total of 330 clock hours for Tiers I, II, III) covering areas of 248 CMR, NFPA 54, venting, pipe sizing and other areas of the trade. Students MUST HAVE a copy of NFPA 54 and a copy of 248 CMR code book as well. These books can be obtained through various websites (such as PHCC of MA, Amazon, etc.)
